Sugaring has been used for thousands of years and is one of the fastest growing hair removal service in professional treatment rooms. Here is what it is, how it works, and why more estheticians are adding it to their menus.
What is sugaring
A technique as old as time. A service your clients will love.
Three ingredients. Applied by hand. Removed in the direction of hair growth.
Sugar paste is made from sugar, water, and lemon. It's applied to the skin at body temperature, worked against the direction of hair growth, and then flicked off in the natural direction of growth.
Since the paste is removed with the hair's natural direction, there's less trauma to the follicle, less breakage, and most importantly for your clients, less discomfort.
Sugaring removes hair at just 1/8 of an inch, about the length of a grain of rice. No awkward grow-out phase for your clients.
Results tend to last longer. With consistent appointments, hair grows back finer and sparser every time.
It's water-soluble, which makes cleanup effortless. It leaves no residue. And because it doesn't adhere to live skin cells, sensitive skin tolerates it far better.
How it works
Three steps. Every treatment.
Sugaring requires no strips and no sticks. The paste is warmed to a workable consistency and applied with gloved hands, a clean, controlled technique from start to finish.

Apply against the grain
The paste is worked onto the skin against the direction of hair growth, gently molding around each follicle. No strips, no applicator sticks. Just warmed paste and gloved hands.

Remove with the grain
The paste is flicked off in the natural direction of hair growth. This is what makes sugaring gentler on the follicle and skin.

One ball for the entire service
The same paste ball is used throughout the treatment, worked until it picks up all the hair in the area. One clean service, start to finish. Cleanup is just warm water.
